Where is shader model 3.0?
Fri 04 Dec 2020, 06:57
Does OR still use this shader? The option is gone. I don't use ENB so that shader version is welcome to me.
I know it don't improve graphics very much but stability and performance are a bit better.

OR manages it internally. The option is not provided anymore.

Ok, but what does that mean? Is it automatically active when Oblivion.ini and RendererInfo.txt are set up properly?
Or is it always active as long as no enb is detected?

Renderer.txt is not meant to be edited. OR forces the game to use shader model 3 internally. But most shaders in the game are 2.0 (except maybe hair), so there is no visual difference. Don't expect shader 3.0 to do much...

malonn has right. Oblivion shaders are model 2. When a shader is compiled in model 2, you cannot "activate" it in model 3. The difference was only for hair and OR replaced them so shader 3 option doesnt need anymore. OR shaders are instead all model 3.
